College Saga Video

I just had to post this up here.

College Saga - Just the last hillarious final fight part.

Enjoy!

Just FYI, it was made by a singaporean student studying in the US. Mark Leung.

Even has a advert in SG. lol.

Breakfast today

Ok, I am suddenly blogging regularly.

This is a shock.

To me.

Lol. Shows you how free students are these days.

Anyway, so after sending wifey to work, me and KK decided to have breakfast at Ayer Rajah market, so off we went and once there, decided that some good old prata would be the dish of the day. That went pretty well, and KK decided to order some eggs as well so we ordered 2 sets from the drink stall.

When the kopitiam auntie came with the eggs, she told us 10 mins to wait and we were pretty puzzled cos half boiled eggs don't usually take that long to cook. In any case, we decided after 5 mins to try and .....

5 mins: 1st egg: not cooked

10 mins: 2nd egg: still not cooked

15 mins: 3rd egg: still.....never mind, you get the idea

20 mins: 4 th egg: never tried, just got $1.60 back from the auntie.

Very unsatisfying so KK suggested Ya Kun at holland v.

And off we went.

LOL.

All for the sake of this;

Oh, well...happiness

Hahaha....very expensive breakfast it turned out to be though...hmm.

Room-Warming: The Aftermath and the Day After Tomorrow (I mean Yesterday, LOL)

I think I'll take a new approach to this.

Instead of writing from the beginning to the end, I shall take a page out of ifuggedwhatisthenameofthatmovie and begin from the end.

So as I write this post, I am right now sitting in a dark, hot, and humid closed foodcourt in Singapore Poly, waiting for wifey to finish her class. Opposite me is KK, whom incidentally will be blogging the same subject as part of today's. Just back from ABC market in Alexandra actually, where we just had a bowl each of the biggest and the best (well, pretty damn good, anyway) wantan mee in our sad short history of wantan mee.

Here's a pic of the bowl, which, incidentally, is part of the menu as a $3 bowl. No kidding, folks.

Its bigger than the picture actually gives justice for. See KK's blog, his "awesome" N95 might have a bigger pic.... maybe.

Review: 4/5 stars.

The sauce is excellent, and even with chili, the chili paste did not overwhelm the taste of the noodles. Of particular mention, I think, is the noodles. Done and cooked just right, with the right amount of springiness and tension and yet soft to the teeth. The soup was alright, although a little bland, but the dumplings were very nice as well. For value of $, it was sheer heaven.

Ok, I guess I am pretty bad at writing reviews. LOL. Just eat it lar, it is VERY nice.

Today was basically spent doing Seref Aksu's assignment, well, more like 60% copying actually, if you look at it. But looking back now, I am pretty amazed that us four (KK, myself, Jeremy and Andy) actually managed to sit down for the entire day (that means 9am to 5pm folks) and actually get some work done, instead of like last week when we were continually breaking off to play games lol. Still, its a good start, and I am rather proud of our gang. hehe.

Yesterday was our impromptu room-warming party, and although we invited some friends and family over, it was partly marred by the absence of some, but, as of today, I hear that misunderstanding has been cleared up. Still, I would like to stress that this "putting aeroplane" business is rather disturbing. Even between close friends, this business can be rather distressing to all involved. In fact, Wifey couldn't produce her usual standard of dongfen, to big bear's and small bear's slight disappointment.

Mahjong took up the rest of the afternoon, which I managed to siam, instead watching recorded episodes of Jumeng all the way. Pretty addictive show. Lol. These koreans really do have a talent for this.

However, I did not manage to siam the night training for the majong, when mom, sis and wifey ganged up on me to sit down and learn with the threat of no more chocalates and also waving a box of ferrero rocher in front of me. Oh well, some sacrifices for the sake of my choco. LOL

Pretty much fun a game is mahjong, lol. Although I still can't really figure out the "eye" and the myriad of patterns in the game, I think I've pretty much got the basics down. hopefully. Although, to me, its still too long a game to be playing for the sum of money involved. I'd much rather play blackjack. LOL.

Yet another super wordy post.

LOL

Tata

Cheers from the Big Bear.

Some Clarification

Ok, so my wife was reading my latest post, and she got concerned that some people might mis-read the following, and I quote from myself;

"For those who are keen to know what married life is like, all I can say is, it's a major adjustment, but no one can really teach you how to live with your future partner. Its really yourself, and in fact, the TV shows and movies that we are so influenced with are all so stereotyped, and really, can't be further off the mark than they already are. It's pretty sad really, when you hear stories of how a couple gets together, each thinking they can live their own life, or thinking how they can change their other half, and how wrong they are. Or when everyone knows they are living an impossible dream, or a mistake, and yet they continually provide excuses for themselves to allow themselves to continue torturing themselves, or to allow themselves to avoid facing the cold, hard truth. Some see quarrellings as communication, and learning about each other more." Unquote.

I wish to state here that I do not mean our own relationship!

Please do not start spamming me now. LOL

What I meant was I have heard about problems from our own friends, and these were just my comments and my own personal views, and are in no way a reflection of my relationship with wifey. Which, by the way, is still par excellente.

Cheers

Room-Warming

Just took a look at my last post....LOL...apparently its been almost 2 months since then....

Ok, I admit I've been lazy, but in my defence, I have been rather occupied with stuff.....like Titan's Quest lol (thanks Jeremy for the shopping parade!!)

So for the un-informed, I officially joined the married club on the 15th of September, with my other half, Wynne, at the Church of St. Mary of the Angels. For more info, call me. Haha. I'll get round to posting photos....eventually. hehe

Otherwise, things have largely been eventful, but really nothing major. September was largely occupied with last minute preparations, which, thankfully, went off without any major hoo-has. Even managed to squeeze in a weekend getaway to Thailand. Crazy shopping there....and came back with half a wardrobe's worth of Adidas clothing. LOL. Looking forward to our next trip there....this time, some real touring must be done. LOL.

For what we went through on that day itself, please read KK's blog, here. Many thanks also to Larry, my ad-hoc, volunteer Wedding Planner. You rock man! Anyone who needs one, please, do get him. You'll thank me later. Hahahahaha....

Then came the 2nd dinner, held for my Malaysian relatives, also largely uneventful, the bus ride was rather comfortable, in fact, I was pleasantly surprised. Managed to visit St. Anne's Church in BM, and its really impressive! I'll try and get photos....I know I have it somewhere.... haha. Some better planning for accommodation could have been arranged from there, but largely ok la, for those who do not mind the budget style living. I guess some Singaporeans are just too pampered. Wynne met my youngest aunt for the first time, and I guess the immediate feeling is what us have been saying all along. I won't put it down here though.

I got the car, and drove all the way down from Penang. Many people have said wow!, that's like nuts, but honestly, if you have the company, then it makes the drive much much easier. Only the lousy 1.3L Suzuki did not help by having the maximum speed being the legal limit of the expressway. LOL. Was having most fun looking at oil tankers and express buses flashing me and overtaking me. Oh well, hard luck. haha

Started my degree course in Oct, and am now adjusting back to student mode. The course is well, so far, ok, but a little heavy on the mathematics side....now I wish I had paid more attention in class earlier. LOL.

For those who are keen to know what married life is like, all I can say is, it's a major adjustment, but no one can really teach you how to live with your future partner. Its really yourself, and in fact, the TV shows and movies that we are so influenced with are all so stereotyped, and really, can't be further off the mark than they already are. It's pretty sad really, when you hear stories of how a couple gets together, each thinking they can live their own life, or thinking how they can change their other half, and how wrong they are. Or when everyone knows they are living an impossible dream, or a mistake, and yet they continually provide excuses for themselves to allow themselves to continue torturing themselves, or to allow themselves to avoid facing the cold, hard truth. Some see quarrellings as communication, and learning about each other more. I see it as a total breakdown in communication, when both parties refuse to give way to each other and give excuses to their own failings. But of course, there are many perceptions as to what a quarrel really means;

a) Breakdown in communication
b) Using loud voices and bluster to hide the real point of the qns/conversation
c) A need to scream?

You take your own meaning from there.

Enough ranting for a day now.

And I just realised that I totally went off point from my blog title.

LOL.

Just for info, Sean was telling Wynne the other day in the office, when could he come over for a room-warming. Since we were married, but did not move to a new house, and only renovated to a new room, hence the meaning. LOL. Interesting bugger.

So its tomorrow, the small room warming. haha. Its gonna be just dinner and the Wii! hooha!. And mahjong for the folks who cant handle a wireless controller. Hehehee.

Cheers to all!
